Inspired by a reference image of her at a court hearing following her imprisonment, I sought to capture the piercing gaze that reflects the weight of injustice. The emotion in her eyes was profoundly moving, a reminder of the urgent need to shed light on the injustices too often ignored. I depicted her outline with restraint, allowing the eyes to hold center stage, and encased her in layers of copper leaf, symbolizing both confinement and resilience.
